Welcome to my repository of random facts, insights into current events, and some rants about things of this world that make me itch. (Think of this as my online “brain” scratcher.)

This blog has nothing to do with a certain manufacturer of electronic devices. It has everything to do with my debt of gratitude to the ones who first dared to bite into the fruit of knowledge. (Apple, for you romantics; fig, for those perhaps more literal-minded scholars.) Not all of us think it a sin to have tasted the rich delight of curiosity, reason, and wonder. This is my celebration of the “fruits” of my own indulgences into the bacchanal pleasures of such investigations.

I love feedback and conversation–so comment freely! Those who deem themselves experts on these topics of my curiosity, please feel free to correct errors or expound on interesting tidbits. But please do so with references, if possible. (And also with reverence for the pursuit of shared knowledge.) Poorly reasoned responses will be ignored, and comments that are rude, crude, and serve no purpose but to drive a wedge through the heart of civil discourse are subject to deletion.
